Great guide. There are 2 little things I would like to point out, imo you should pull your kenki into the burst window for more dmg.. you can basically enter your 2 min with 100 kenki. And second.. when you "repaired" your rotation due to 3gcd downtime, i think you miscalculated. Because yes your sticker is 3 gcds but you still use 1 to compensate for it. So u basically saved 2 gcds.. and u are still 1 gcd behind.. thats why you used your senei after gekko and not between your midares.. i might be wrong tho :))))

The only thing that loses me is after the odd minute burst it leaves you with 2 sen. If you go straight into the cooldown phase graph you’ll over cap on sen, since that’s built to build 3 sen then midare. Is the idea to yukikaze, midare, recast midare, THEN go into the cooldown phase graphic?

For Zanshin do we only use it during the Opener or also use it during the even minute burst?

This is a probably a silly question but if you come out of the odd minute burst with two Sen, how do we follow the second cooldown without overcapping Sen?

Ok, I just learned a lot from this. But the best thing I learned is how to remove aggro from a dummy. Life changing.

2.14 rotation is so cursed that I was willing to invest more in SkSp just for the comfort. Sometimes comfiness>top deeps specially if the difference is pretty much marginal in dummy tests, actual battles 2.08 will come out in top 9/10 unless you are a hardcore sweaty player.

So the important part is just to make sure to get the tendo and both shoha during buffs after repairing the rotation even if we are one GCD "behind" of the 100% uptime rotation from using Meikyo to get a sticker?

I looked at my skill speed last night... its like 498 😅. Never played a speed samurai. I've always gone Crit/DH/Det.

This is just great advice overall. Question am currently preparing to get into raiding, and learning the rotation if 2.08 is supposed to be easier for new players. Can you get it from the stats for pre raid gear for an easier transition before getting savage gear?

(spoilers) Really like this because i can make a custom minthara - or as close to her as i can get. It obviously won't have story impact but I like having her and halsin in my party!

Bit of advanced tech, but Iajutsus have a larger range than max melee. This means you can save that kaeshi (dont do this for 2min burst) to more cleanly keep GCD uptime in fight that force you to go barely out of max melee. The point blank AOEs in M3S and M4S come to mind.

There is something great about watching a FF14 class guide and they assume you know the class enough to get into the optimizations and rotational differences. This is honestly one of the better guides I've seen since shadowbringers, keep up the good work ( *´▽ ` )っ♥

As a new SAM who had to break my teeth to barely scrape 75 percentile on Ex1/2, The real issue is not just uptime, it's learning a fight. While I'm learning a fight, I don't want to be counting Enpis, I want to just do the proper rotation slower The 'repair' would be 10x easier if I could just HIT meikyo right at the same time no matter WHAT, and then pump in the missing sen right THEN and not GCDs in ADVANCE. They're asking people to 1. Count Enpi CD, and then 2. Recalculate when to Meikyo/sen in advance 3. while doing actual mechanics Honestly part of me just wants to try with both 2.00 GCD and 2.17 GCD. What is so #)*ing magical about 2.14 and 2.08 outside of Bana alignment in a perfect striking dummy setting? My downtime might be 2 sec, 2.5 sec, 3.1 sec, it can be literally all over the place. It might happen from mechanic, from learning fight/hesitation, from unoptimal greeding. Like really that downtime almost makes me feel 2.14 vs 2.08 with both end up completely fucked and you would never notice the difference. Sigh. w/e for m1s at least 2.08 is nice.

I didn't realize I was playing ad hoc all along when doing TEA, it just made more sense to me than learning a rigid rotation.

18:45 if you feint 2nd GCD you have feint coming back right before the next raid-wide as well.

They mocked my SkS... Way before I looked up any guide, theorizing going above 1000... and the Balance Discord I left... They mocked my SkS!! look at it now >8[ !!! mhm!!

Stuff like this is why I absolutely hate micromanaging skill speed on disciples of war. Unfortunately, it takes more than a bit of grindy work getting the highest ilvl gear WITH the appropriate skill speed already, then melding appropriate materia. The fun for me is in just playing the jobs well, not farming for specific gear beyond simply upgrading ilvl. I'll still enjoy playing SAM in whatever sks I have right now, but I'll forever be a healer/caster main that isn't nearly as affected by sps so I can usually equip the highest ilvl gear I get.

What do you do if you miss 1 or 2 gcds?

What would you suggest for if downtime only loses you 1 gcd?

I have been enlightened... especially on the Sks melding wow.

I don't know if I'm just an idiot, but I have the HARDEST TIME understanding the corelation between the sks number and how much time it translates to on GCD. On all of my classes. Whenever I go to the balance discord, everything is in GCD numbers instead of just the actual sks number and I just feel lost af. So thank you sincerely for showing the connection between the two.

So with this new skill speed and let's say that becomes my favored style in playing, would there be any gear changes that I may want to get outside of the current 2.14 bis setup (and just changing some to skill speed melds to reach cap)?

Is it possible to hit the skillspeed needed before getting all the 720 gear?

honestly, just take the time to learn adhoc and play 2.14. There's so much downtime that following a rotation will completely screw you over

So I noticed my SKS is low and Its at 2.49 seconds can I still play on this 7.08 rotation? I been not liking this 2.14 it hurts my brain, I still need more 730 and majority gear still 710 Penta meld
